With Brees now free to be in contact with any team, the Denver Broncos should try to jump in and steal Brees from the Saints.
As of noon on Monday, anyone can legally call Brees’ agent Tom Condon and offer him $30 million a year to leave and become the highest paid NFL player.
The Broncos currently have more cap space than the Saints, so they might be able to offer him more money.
At the same time, they also have an offense that Brees can thrive in. With two-big time receivers in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, Brees would do just fine in Denver. Plus, their defense can still be dominant.
Not to mention, the AFC West is also be an easier path to the playoffs than the NFC South, which is arguably the best division in football.

If anyone could persuade Brees not to re-sign with the Saints, it’d be John Elway, who’s done a phenomenal job as general manager of the Broncos. If the Broncos stole Brees from New Orleans, this would be a bigger heartbreak for Saints fans than the Minneapolis Miracle.
