Ezekiel Elliott Reportedly Faces ‘Short’ Suspension

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday that Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is bracing for a “short suspension” stemming from an investigation into a 2016 domestic violence allegation.

Schefter added that the NFL’s inquest isn’t completed but that it is nearing the latter stages.

Per TMZ, a 20-year-old woman told police Elliott assaulted her last year in Columbus, Ohio.

She was identified as his girlfriend at that time and alleged that Elliott attacked her while they were sitting in her car.

Four witnesses said they didn’t see an assault take place, and the running back did not face charges due to “conflicting and inconsistent information,” according to

Elliott had great NFL rookie season leading 1,631 rushing yards to go along with 15 rushing touchdowns and 32 receptions for 363 yards and one touchdown through the air.

Elliott was named to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro First Team for his efforts.

If Elliott does miss some time early in the season due to suspension, the veteran running back duo of Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris is expected to fill in.
