Don’t expect to see free agent running back DeAngelo Williams in a Dallas Cowboys uniform anytime soon, if ever.
Even if he was needed(Cowboys now have Ezekiel Elliott ), Williams wouldn’t consider playing for the Cowboys and let his thoughts be known about it via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“The Cowboys, they win,” said Williams. “They just, they don’t ever show up during the playoffs, though. Like, they always disappear in the playoffs.”
It wasn’t just the organization that Williams threw shade at, but also the Cowboys fan base.
“I got a great depiction of the Cowboys fan base during the regular season last year,” said Williams. “They were on cloud nine. Fans just got extremely super annoying, and then the minute they lose, they either got cheated, somebody was hurt, like the excuses start flowing.”
“It’s just amazing to me, just that fan base, just in general, they can’t handle defeat,” added Williams. “I mean, still to this day, they say the Dez Bryant catch against the Green Bay Packers was a catch.”
The hate against Dallas Cowboys might have something to do with the fact that Williams grew up as a San Francisco 49ers fan and stated the 49ers ruled the 1980’s and even refuses to consider the Cowboys as the team of the 1990’s.
Williams has spent 11 seasons in the NFL, nine of those with the Carolina Panthers. He spent the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It should also be noted that he’s 0-3 in his career against the Cowboys. He didn’t play in the game last year when the Steelers lost to Dallas.
